City-like Town of Fergus
Even though Fergus is only 10,500 people strong, according to this sign photographed in 2004; it has many of the facilities of a city. With major stores like Canadian Tire, Walmart and Zehrs the people of Fergus don't have to travel far for much of their daily needs. That is probably why Fergus' real estate is so popular - apart from the fact that so many people love the limestone masonry on the many stone houses that still exist here.
Fergus has a wide variety of schools, including Centre Wellington District High School, and a well-respected healthcare facility in Groves Memorial Community Hospital (GMCH).

That the Grand River, that flows so majestically through Fergus, is a favoured destination for fly fishing enthusiasts?
